Probably my least favourite butterfly to try and photograph! The frustratingly coy Purple Hairstreak, who loves nothing better than a game of hide & seek amongst the oak leaves in Cabilla woods! .@Cornwall_BC @savebutterflies #butterflies.

Male Silver-washed fritillary basking in Cabilla Woods yesterday. It’s a good year for these large butterflies, with over a dozen feeding on a single bramble bush. @Cornwall_BC @savebutterflies @WildlifeTrusts #butterflies

Who are you looking at? That’s one angry looking Peacock, showing just how effective those eye markings can be. I wouldn’t mess with him!.@Cornwall_BC @savebutterflies @WildlifeTrusts #butterfly #wildlife

It’s Nightjar time! We took our annual trip last night to North Cornwall and soon we were rewarded with a fly past by two males. Worth being bitten by midges!.@Natures_Voice @WildlifeTrusts @CBWPS1 #nightjars #birds

Common Swift. One of my favourite birds. There were dozens over the house yesterday evening, along with house martins and the odd swallow. @CBWPS1 @Natures_Voice @WildlifeTrusts
