Vote isnāt until next week so more time to help swifts!!!
It doesnāt matter if youāre not Scottish ⦠PLEASE PLEASE email Gillian.Martin.msp@parliament.scot who has just said no to mandating swift bricks in Scotland. If EVERYONE asks her to save our swifts then maybe sheāll change her mind. The vote is tomorrow.

First bird of my day: a rook right on the windowsill pecking at the glass and cawing. For a moment I thought the birds had come to claim me. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

First bird of my day: a blue tit looking impossibly yellow in the grey, dull landscape, like an enchanted fairy light that escaped and flung itself into the sky. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

@YvieCrocks5 @WriterHannahBT Hi! Thank you so much for sharing. Every voice counts. While this e-action is available for people in Scotland only, others could email the Cab Sec for Climate Action and Energy directly (CabSecforCAE@gov.scot) asking for Swift bricks to be required in all Scottish new builds.

I went back to see the goldcrest. No sign tonight but instead I heard the cronk of a raven, looked up and saw the silvery sheen on its sleek black feathers.

Today I met ā¦@NicholasMiltonā© the author of many bird books including this one: The Role Of Birds In World War Two. Sometimes we forget that birds have been alongside us in good, bad & horrendous times, often as the only glimmers of hope. I think we should actively remember

First thought this morning- wonder how the goldcrest is
I just stood next to Britainās joint-smallest bird, a goldcrest. Tiny and perfect, it piped its tune at me from the hedge. Up to a quarter of these tiny birds wonāt make it through a harsh winter so Iām rooting for this one on what will be such a bitterly cold night.
