Jubilant day for Joel Camas, the 16-year-old from the Bronx detained by ICE last month. Judge Cathy Seibel ordered his release, and he is reunited with his uncle. In court, Seibel lamented that "kids are getting held for six months even though they have a safe place to go"

This morning, T4America responded to reports from Politico that the Trump administration is proposing to eliminate federal transit funding and the flexibility states have to determine how to spend their own formula dollars. Read the full statement: https://t.co/hY0vKBkxVI

“ When I had told him it's the same guy that stood with our uncle and so many other people that drive cabs that my father knows,” said Singh, “He's like, ‘No way, that's the guy?’” another great voter story by @brigidbergin and joe hong

It’s crazy that the new NYC subway cars only have 30 seats and the old ones have 80 and we are in any way supposed to consider this an improvement. Me must return…

Thanks, Zohran. I’m proud to be in the fight with you for a democracy on the terms of working people: affordability, housing, safety, and more. From NYC to Seattle: this is your city. #thisisyourcity
Congratulations to Seattle’s Mayor-elect @wilsonformayor! Seattle voters made their voices heard: they want a new kind of politics — one that rejects corporate PAC money and delivers for working people. From one Mayor-elect to another, wishing you the best. Seattle is in great

"17% of respondents stated that they started using bus service because it became free. "Younger people and women were particularly likely to be new riders. "Implementation of a fare-free policy can help providers strengthen their core ridership base while also expanding it."
New @UnivOfKansas research has found that when Kansas City made its bus service fare-free in 2020, it not only attracted new riders but also increased overall bus use for many. These changes have the potential to enhance mobility and quality of life. https://t.co/6x0SO2xZll

One of the most troubling aspects of NY's retreat on climate policy is the validation of climate denialism. What once was considered fringe conspiracy is gaining footing. NY must lead and help our country maintain course in the midst of Trump's dangerous denial.

Another article about how Los Angeles isn't "dense enough for transit" by someone for whom buses seem to be invisible. Los Angeles is plenty dense for great transit, but most of it will logically be better, more useful buses. Let go of the bus-erasure and possibilities appear!

The Bronx has long borne the brunt of pollution and heavy truck traffic. Now it’s time for the borough to reap the rewards of congestion relief. Learn why and how from @THEPOINTCDC's Dariella Rodriguez and NYC-EJA's Kevin Garcia 👇 https://t.co/1o0zopIUaF

The IIJA has increased funding for highways but much has been eaten by faster-than-inflation increases in labor and materials costs. Transit capital spending has flatlined, and rail projects have experienced a net decline in spending.

Congrats to the M42 on winning the "Pokey Award" — let’s make that the last time a NYC bus is this slow. NYC should be known for buses that are fast and free.

In other forms, demands for fare-free public transit have a long history. In New York their ancestor is the demand for the 5-cent fare. In 1900, when the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Company began charging a second nickel to passengers going to Coney Island, many New Yorkers objected.

No, right wingers, emergency vehicles are not having a hard time getting through court street now that it has a bike lane. In fact, they can use the bike lane in an emergency, which has no cars in it!
