I Invest in and advise great startups - non consensus and founder first
Austin
Joined May 2010
This is a truth that all founders should most definitely embrace. A compelling narrative is what separates the great companies from the good.
Startups with founders who are great storytellers will always have a massive unfair advantage. Why? Because storytelling is the pitch. It’s how you raise money, attract top talent, land customers, get press, build a brand, rally a community. All of it. Founders who can craft.

Implications, predictions and commentary on AI by @gregisenberg -- great read #ai.
this is what's keeping me up at night these days. 1. chatgpt 4o image gen is as big as the chatgpt launch. probably will birth 1000+ $1-$100m/year vertical software businesses. 2. we’re in the “mp3 napster era” of content. millions of creators don’t realize their entire back.

This is solid startup advice. Care about your customers and delight them, everything else will fall into place.
The biggest moat in startups right now? Actually caring about your customers. Most companies optimize for views, investors, competitors, or headlines. The bar for giving a shit and actually surprising & delighting is shockingly low.

Google Gemini @GeminiApp is going to be a game changer - super impressed. The integration with your Gmail inbox is the killer feature. This is a data moat that no other LLM has. #ai.

Agree with this sentiment. I was strictly a SaaS B2B investor but the products being created in consumer with AI/LLMs are super interesting. The first break-out agent startup is most likely going to be a consumer app.
Too many startups/investors are exploring the b2b opportunities with LLMs and not enough are exploring the consumer opportunities. This is the moment consumer founders have been waiting for.
