Find it amazing that tonight’s episode of @60Mins shows footage of a tractor spraying a golf course or park with glyphosate. It would kill all the grass. You wonder if they can’t understand it’s basic use & show incorrect footage , how can they report on it correctly @NoTillBill

Differences in performance in generic glyphosate formulations and surfactant packages built in. Red = premium glyphosate , yellow = generic with poor surfactant loading. Over 500 glyphosate products on the market , so a lot to choose from. 👍reaserch by plant science consulting

Why it’s important to use registed products on RR canola -not all gly products are safe. Genetics are mapped with markers for the specific gene. Here the grower used registed product and finished a strip with Generic Gly. Registed product 2.2t Ha and the Generic strip 0.5t/ha 😖

Went to a friends place and he ditched his glyphosate tin as a cigarette butt holder, due to perceived health risk. Lucky he found a quick safer replacement 👍⛑ @agriprof @NoTillBill

Must be getting somewhere in our no till farming system. 2002 vs 2018 , with similar rainfall, same spot but barley in 02 and wheat in 18 @NoTillBill @agriprof @agrobaz @SeanM_DMAg_SA @Craig__Davis @CropDoctor54 #culgoa

Recent rains and cool conditions have done wonders for lentils crops in the mallee the past 2 weeks - pods trying to fill two , late flowers that may make it and extra bulk for harvesting. Some crops with 0.8-1t ha now have potential now for 1.5t ha @JasonBrand @CropDoctor54

Harvest 🌾🌾 at Culgoa has begun in southern Vic mallee - Compass barley. Odd green grain but testing ok for moisture. Let the madness begin 🤡 @HerbieWarne @AndrewWitney @chriswalsh008 @mattelliott32 @kentonp_ag @agronomeiste @agriprof @brettbarker92 @AndrewDMAgro @tommy_bath

Commodus vs Spartacus - with Commodus 1t ha in front in yield with far less breaking of the stems. Green strip says it all and as a general observation here a lot more Spartacus hit the ground at harvest 😞 . @kentonp_ag @agronomeiste @InterGrain1 @chriswalsh008 @CropDoctor54

Despite not common practice these days here - 3rd year Cereal in a row (Sparticus barley) with solid nutrition program really putting on the tiller numbers. Systiva working well to keep net blotch age bay for now 🧐 @chriswalsh008 @kentonp_ag @AndrewDMAgro @agronomeiste

Good old nitrogen trial strips-70kg ha Urea at seeding vs no N at seeding. Even when top dressed, some paddocks never quite catch the early N applications for effectiveness. Up front =👍 @jlaycock55 @CropDoctor54 @agrobaz @AndrewDMAgro @agronomeiste @mattelliott32 @brettbarker92

Benatas vetch yielded 8.3t/ha at Boort. Cool/wet spring in its favour. Interesting to see how the feed test comes up🌱. Crucial doing a solid pre cut job @JasonBrand @FanningJosh_ @aidanpmcgrath @chriswalsh008 @altmann_craig @DSchub11 @MarkSlatts74 @schnaars_chris @DavKee43

Glyphosate resistant rye grass is an indication of high use patterns. What’s good to see is the high amount of 🐛 worms in this paddock which has been due to no cultivation and no-till farming. Glyphosate has increased biological activity and improved soil health @NoTillBill

Always interesting to see the stubble height effect on germinating weeds/self sowns. One height desperate for a spray and the other height buying time @CropDoctor54 @SeanM_DMAg_SA @agrobaz @agriprof @brettbarker92 @AndrewDMAgro @agrobaz @agronomeiste @gsandral @mattelliott32

Dry seeding always a great weapon to get crop in but very tough going this year.Replacing bolts and parts, adjusting depth is keeping the job going after compaction of wet sowing in 2020. If it stays dry at least we keep good stubble cover🌱 @agrobaz @CropDoctor54 @farmtradedavy
