Durum beat bread wheat on yield and gross margin in SA’s south-east twice. 2022 & 2024 trials near Wolseley showed: • Patron up to 4.5–4.66 t/ha • Bread wheats maxed at 3.3 t/ha • Stripe rust hit bread wheat hardest • Patron returned $2,124/ha (2022) vs $863/ha for top bread
