Rutherglen bugs are on the move, with populations increasing under warmer, drier conditions. Check canola, stubble, and weedy pastures now to plan summer crop management. https://t.co/ZrJGBTTElv

Barley as or more susceptible to Fusarium crown rot than wheat. Definitely not a break crop. Barley tends to express fewer whiteheads (ie tolerance) as its earlier maturity often allows it to escape as severe heat/moisture stress during grain fill that exacerbates FCR expression.
A disease assessment in our Victrato® trials for Fusarium crown rot suppression. 🌾WHEAT - clear signs of crown rot, including whiteheads & honey brown colour near the crown. 🌾BARLEY - no visible symptoms which aligns with its generally lower susceptibility to crown rot.

Great turnout for our field days held at Dulacca & Lundavra! 🌾 Growers saw varietal responses to Crown Rot, incl. @Syngenta's new product, Victrato. Thanks to Steven Simpfendorfer (NSW DPI), our trial partners & host growers. Great to see so many locals in the field! 👏

Got my favourite field day comment after explaining adult plant resistance (APR) last week (photo 1). ‘Yeah, but you are still losing green leaf area with APR!’ 🤔😤Response: then grow a variety with little or no APR (ie susceptible, photo 2). Problem solved. 🤣

Promise I had nothing to do with trial design. Green Lancer plot in between yellow Vixen and Scepter plots. Awesome video highlighting value of genetic resistance. Nice work Baz!
Bit of a snapshot in our stripe rust trial with @HartBrosSeeds this had an early fungicide with a post em spray on 17th July and nothing since. #aggrowagronomy

Our Helicoverpa traps are showing an increase in moth activity in NWNSW, indicating the end of their diapause. Check https://t.co/UWRL5M5oAj Early detection of small larvae is crucial for effective pest management. Continue scouting for caterpillars! @nswagriculture @theGRDC

A lot of cereal leaf disease enquiries with rain predicted next week but agree first of all ‘have you checked your chickies?’
🌿Ascochyta found in chickpeas last week in the central west. 🧐....get out & have a look & make sure your fungicide regime is sound prior to the next rainfall. Need more info? "NSW DPIRD's Managing diseases of chickpea 2025" https://t.co/pq91j8CUhP
