@MCB_Sheffield @collins_lab @melghazaly96 We found that DNA damage induced by typhoid toxin of Salmonella activated a tumour suppressor mechanism called senescence. The SASP secretome from the senescent cells contained Wnt5a and TGFฮฒ ligands, which damaged cells in the infection niche and promoted Salmonella infection
