"In the short term, laymen must abandon all desires, plans, and schemes to force change on the hierarchy and on the local parish. Abandon them completely. Stop pretending that they are merely waiting for our help, are clueless, or simply need a little encouragement. When it

Working in that chancery, I saw everything I hadn't seen before. I saw how much crime, how much straight sex, how much gay sex, how much embezzlement, how many mistresses, how many boyfriends...because now I was looking at the money. I saw the abuse payouts. I learned how the

I think the hubbub about @catholicpat and his new book is sort of the last straw for me with the Catholic Internet. I started I think 2002 on the "Defenders of the Catholic Faith" website run by a name brand apologist. That was great for several years until I got involved in

I don't like to Doxx people too much, it feels creepy and weird to run all over the internet looking for scraps of information about them. In this "Don't drive to a faraway parish" debate I make a quick google to verify that the OP was in his mid 20's. As expected. But I have a

@JackPosobiec All “the poor and marginalized” are “saints” who deserve veneration in NuChurch world. It’s “a beautiful teaching given to us by Pope Francis” says Blaise Cardinal Cupich as he downs his third appletini.

@_Leila @ArdorNew The trouble is, these young 'uns are so full of themselves, they won't even listen to those of us who've already been through this mentality, & given up on it, for the sake of our children, & our sanity.

Do. Not. Work. For. The. Church. And don't work for "Catholic" organisations, non-profits, publishers, or any adjacent entity. They treat employees like garbage and expect to be thanked for it.

My advice to fervent, devout Catholic laity is to show your devotion to the Church by doing something, anything really, that does not involve *working for the church*. Musicians excepted. And whatever you do, don't get an MA in theology

+Schneider told John Henry Weston (already feels like the setup of a terrible joke) that women should never approach the altar during Mass. He failed to explain why. Catholic influencers who have no idea what Schneider is taking about are posting about how "based" he is.

I don't post about politics much. Others are much more interested and much more knowledgeable. But it seems not so difficult to figure out. Trump apparently agrees with Orwell's 1984 on the eventual division of global power. In the novel, Oceania was the Americas and UK.

I feel like sometimes we need reminders. A sitting pope resigned, and everyone agrees it was because of threats and scandal in his Curia. After he resigned, his entourage gave various explanations of his current role, none of which were "he's no longer pope, the new guy is

I note with no surprise that Catholic apologists still tend to claim that people who disagree with them are blinded by a life of sexual deviancy. This is how you figure out who the audience for Catholic apologetics actually is. It isn't potential converts. And once you figure

@DHiddenness @FollowingTrend @Joeinblack Luckily, we have annulments, that are successful in basically 100% of cases, where we pretend the marriage didn't happen and it's all right to marry again; even when we say we are against divorces. A true miracle.
