I'm just now catching up with some of the books my son read aged 6. I used to let him get on with it, but now reading "Swallows & Amazons," & "Peter Duck" for the first time, I'm amazed at how complex & technical the language was. He somehow understood it all!
This is the worst thing I have seen in a long time.

I made a family 3 'Little House' outfits for their girls, who loved the books at the time. They insisted on wearing them to Church one day, which rather horrified the new Priest. He'd previously been in the US, & didn't seem to think much of people who dressed like that! 🤣
