Here’s a video of our ongoing work in lake quinault.
It’s #FieldworkFriday and we’re on the #OlympicPeninsula in #Washington #mapping lakes. These maps reveal seismic features such as underwater landslides, which can then be sampled via sediment coring to better understand seismic activity in the region.

How do large Alaskan lakes respond to seismic shaking? We’re trying to answer this bc they contain geological evidence of past earthquakes . We just wrapped up field ops in Skilak Lake- recovered seismic stations from around the shoreline and on the lake bottom
