The proposals are effectively a ‘burn it all down and salt the earth’ policy in of themselves. It’s not that science is perfect, or that there weren’t past injustices, but a lot of this makes science worse for everyone - including indigenous people.
Me when I see Trump’s latest insanity on academia: "I don’t know, maybe he should cool it down.". Me when I read shit like this: "Burn everything to the ground and spread salt on the ruins.".

Further in this thread Francois notes it is happening in London and some other cities, but this low trust society shift is happening outside of major cities as well. Nelson & Rentoul are making similar mistakes as public health did in the pandemic, further reducing public trust.
