Please watch this video. It’s 17 mins, so grab a cuppa & learn about our amazing service dogs, & why we should be helping them in their twilight years. Please help us to #ProtectOurProtectors by sharing & if you could spare a couple of quid, donating. Thank you, it means a lot 💜
Two months ago we launched The NFRSA. Supporting retired service animals in their twilight years by helping their owners & handlers with ongoing medical & veterinary needs. We are so proud to be there for them all. Please watch our video. #dogsoftwitter

Thanks to a friendly neighbour who raised the alarm, our resident female swan was rescued yesterday by the heroic Harry and Dan. She had been missing for 48 hours and her mate was looking dejected, so we looked everywhere for her round our lake - no sign. Then out of the blue -

Our work continues with the story of RPD Tess - a beautiful Belgian Malinois - who served with the @nuclearpolice and had an exemplary career before having to retire due to arthritis. We met wonderful Tess and her equally wonderful Dad @dizbhoy80 on the final day of the Lands

Poor Tess has SLO. Her body is attacking her nail beds and she could hardly walk. She is getting there on meds but a huge thanks goes to @The_NFRSA who have been instrumental in helping with this so thank you so much. It’s so appreciated 💜🐾💜

One of the loveliest and most unusual things I’ve ever received - and it means the world. Thank you @Hippopotamum - it will hang in my office. X
When you open your post and learn the name of the NFRSA nestles in the galaxy forever. The most thoughtful gift - which will be treasured. We have our very own star, and it’s called: NFRSA - 11th May 2022 Thank you @Hippopotamum - we are touched beyond measure.

Welcome to the newest members of the NFRSA family. Each heroic animal has served their communities, keeping them safe. Now it’s our turn to return that care - by supporting them in their retirement with medical and vet bills. Thank you for your service. We’ll be here if you

This - absolutely this. I was going to write a post about #Panorama this morning, as I too watched the programme last night and was shocked by the behaviour of the officers featured, but please read the post by @UKCopHumour - it sums it up perfectly.
𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮, 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 Panorama spent seven months undercover in the Met. We've cut all of that down to 59 seconds: the journalist admitting he saw countless police officers doing an excellent job in the

Can we all remember that every single member of the emergency services is someone’s son or daughter. Would you like someone to physically and mentally abuse your son or daughter. Just because they are in uniform doesn’t mean they don’t have feelings or a heart.

If it looks like a duck, & quacks like a duck - it’s pretty much going to be a duck. Anyone can attempt to reinvent themselves in a different format, with new feathers, or glamorous promises - but eventually, the truth will surely out. I’ll share the tale with you one day.

Never fail to be astonished by the skill and bravery of any serving police dog. Last week was no exception.
Last week, we were kindly invited by @RAF__Police to visit @RAFHonington to attend the final day of the @RoyalAirForce Police Military Working Dog Trials. Amazing dogs - extraordinary handlers. Thank you for the warm welcome - we look forward to seeing you again very soon.

I simply love happy endings to stories. Lots of love to Coty, Lisa and Mark. It’s been a heck of a journey. But we got there together. Thank you all.
Thanks to you - this happened… Three months ago, the future of RPD Coty from @kent_police and @KPTacOps hung in the balance. She needed urgent spinal surgery to save her life - without it, she would have had to be put to sleep. But you all stepped up. You all helped.

Work continues: Some weeks ago RPD Pip, who served with @sspoldogsection, may or may not have chased something through the garden - and then may, or may not, have got her head stuck in some railings… 🫣 A slight fuss ensued while she was freed, and the poor darling got some

Thank you so much to @The_NFRSA for your continued support, not just financially but for caring so much about Stark, Michelle and I. It’s been a really difficult time and we can’t thank you enough for everything you do l, not only for us but for all retired service animals. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Poor RPD Stark who retired earlier this year from @WMPDogs has been through the mill lately… A leg injury, bad enough at the time, then turned into sepsis - and at one point we all dreaded the worst. It’s been an awful few months and deeply frightening for his devoted Dad
