Check out my and @ProfJudiAllen's commentry in @ImmunityCP on how IL-4 signalling in macrophages protects against aging. Great work from the Yifu Qiu lab. So many implications. @TCDTMI @LydiaBeckerIII

Nice preprint @barton_lab. KLF2 in large (serous) cavity macrophage development. Much more complex role for Tfs than in 2014. Now we have a complex interplay of many TFs, Bhlhe40, Rxrs, Gata6. KLF2 acts early, before retinotic acid.

Hey anyone have R code to convert CITE-seq data in Seurat (or similar) into .FCS files for use in @FlowJoNow? flowcore @Bioconductor can write FCS files but I don't want to write the code myself, I'll mess it up!.

So cool, always felt the RNA velocity analysis was unstable when messing with hyperparameters, looks like a more stable way to infer cell development.

To point out 2 authors. @Labninja2 our resident parasitologist. The L. sigmodontis parasite is a precious resource that very few labs have the capacity to provide. We had Brian to make it happen all while keeping a smile on everyone's face.

We recently found out from @GwenRandolph_ that humans have many more Converting Cavity macrophages than GATA6+ resident macrophages - making them more like BALB/c mice. I wonder what is going on in the cavities of those infected with mansonella spp of worms?.

Mapping the development of monocytes into tissue resident macrophages - we show that they change their function, radically, along that development path, increasing capacity to be M2 over M1 activated. This is the area I most excited to explore in the future.

An unanswered question is if strain differences in macrophages development is extrinsic or intrinsic to the macrophages (epigenome)?.
