In honor of Kershaw's incredible career, let's revisit this gem on how you can still "drift" from a slide step. Rather than initiating by dropping into the back leg, he first leans/falls to move his body away from the rubber, allowing the drop into his hinge to propel him

A few splitter tips, • Think fastball • Throw the “V” between your fingers • Let it come off your middle finger • Feel like you’re dunking it on the plate • Widening space between fingers can reduce spin • Moving pinky & ring finger up against middle can reduce

Don’t forget to pick on the way up or down on occasion for those base runners who get late primary leads. This can be on the fly when you are looking at the runner at 1B & he is still on the base as you are coming set.

Long toss footwork: is crow hopping necessary?🤔 There are many benefits to long toss, but the overarching goal is to actually transfer these throws to the mound. Is crow hopping the best way to achieve this? Here's why long tossing from your delivery may be worth

One of the biggest mistakes that pitchers make is thinking, “Okay, I need to put force into the ground. How do I do that? I’ll just get into my quad.” So they push into the quad, stick out their knee, and think that’s how to generate power. But that’s not actually what we want.
