Intra-cisternal Gd contrast MRI is a gold standard for imaging glymphatic function in vivo. But, a large Area-Under-the-Curve (AUC) is not necessary "high" glymphatic flow. It could be slow efflux, leading to more Gd retention. For detail:

Our 6-yr efforts is finally published on Nature Communications!. We discover a neural pathway that regulates the glymphatic system. Its deficit in aging and dementia may result in the pathology. This suggests new targets for diagnosis and treatment.

This is what’s bugging me about AI denoise. Vendors always show you how pretty the normal human image is improved. But the real issue is whether it will also clean up pathology??.

Are you using noise reduction software on your CT KUBs?. Beware! We had a near miss recently. Very modern software (this one is a deep-learning algorithm) can smooth out even 7mm calculi . Check your scanner as AI isn’t always that smart

What regulates waste clearance of the brain?.Using human & animal imaging, we identified a neural pathway that modulates BOLD-CSF coupling and glymphatic flux. Its degeneration in aging and dementia could underlie glymphatic deficits.
