Read my first @LizStrout - gosh! So much careful observation and insight and wisdom. Heart in my throat the whole way. Connection, realness, love, meaning - that’s what we all search for, right? Bob’s soul billowing ahead of him as he falls “in love” will stay with me always.

Just watched @netflix doco on #Grenfell. Incredibly well told - the careful narrative mostly driven by @insidehousing trade press journo @PeteApps - incomparable in his tenacity and eloquence. So many reporters only stick around for the headlines - Pete never walked away.

But that’s just my view - what’s yours? And @amortowles how did you pull this off?

I’m a decade late to this party, better late than never! How did a one location story (posh bloke living in luxury hotel) swoop past the grim gatekeepers and into our hearts? Towles’ extreme confidence + chutzpah gives us a Tolstoy for our times, ranging far beyond one building;

Rain is the writer’s friend, isn’t it. Hunker down, stay in the dry, get those words working …

I have worked all weekend on my novel. Not that anyone cares. I have nobody to tell, and Twitter/X, I don’t expect you to care either. But hey ho. Into another week of the day job. And ad infinitum … nobody said this was easy etc etc

Very disappointed that online giant @Photobox missed the specified date to send out my daughter’s 18th BD photobook - and no email to complain either. Paid extra to receive it 4th Jan … 😭😢 no apology just an “overwhelming demand” note on my account against the word - delayed.

As a long time lover of Spain, really enjoying this as my inbetweens read @Mark_Eveleigh - looking forward to getting back out there in 2025!

To prevent flooding in our communities, we must start in the uplands. Replanting woodlands and restoring peat bogs helps store more water in the landscape, reducing the risk downstream. We can keep building higher flood walls, but working with nature is far more effective.
