Although it won't be confirmed until after the event has reached Earth, there are signs tonight's Severe Geomagnetic Storm will be the strongest since 2005.
This will mean it's likely all of the UK (cloud permitting) should be able to see the the Aurora tonight if you look north

again tonight.
Activity is expected to slowly decline, however there is a good chance (cloud permitting) you’ll be able to see it again tonight.

The Sun just launched multiple Coronal Mass Elections (plasma with embedded magnetic field) at Earth which are combining with each other on the way over. A severe geomagnetic storm is predicted this weekend, meaning auroras are likely to be seen where 'Kp 8' is on the maps below!
