Human survivability at its absolute limit in #Asia currently: #Thailand, #Myanmar, #Cambodia, #Vietnam, and the #Philippines. All hit temperatures above 40°C, with some places experiencing an incredible life-threatening heat index of up to 52°C.

In 2015, the WMO released imagined 2050 weather forecasts—scorching, extreme, alarming. They were meant as warnings. Now, in 2025, those forecasts are already here. The heatwaves have arrived - 25 years early. #ClimateCrisis #Heatwave

Ironically, cleaner air may be part of the problem. As Europe cuts industrial pollution and aerosols, the atmosphere reflects less sunlight—letting more solar energy hit the ground. More sunshine = more surface heating. A troubling side effect of decarbonization.

Europe’s geography adds fuel to the fire. With shrinking rivers and lakes due to drought, there’s less water to cool the region. Land heats up much faster than water—so when it dominates the landscape, heatwaves intensify fast and linger longer.

The extreme heat hitting Europe is alarming—but there’s a deeper pattern. Europe is heating over twice as fast as the global average. Why? A key reason is its proximity to the rapidly warming Arctic, where melting ice reflects less sunlight, trapping more heat.

#Europe may get a brief relief from the heatwaves, but don’t be fooled. The 10-day outlook indicates that the heat is returning, with temperatures up to +12°C above normal once again over most of #France and C Europe. Relentless high pressure on repeat, driven by climate change.

France is shutting down nuclear plants again due to rising river temperatures. As climate change accelerates, this poses a major risk to the power supply, and other serious risks if cooling systems fail. This isn’t just about energy. It’s about safety.

All of France is baking under this intense heatwave, with not a cloud in sight to offer any protection. No relief from the scorching sun means crops and agricultural yields face serious threats from this relentless heat.

This heat dome is incredible so early in summer. #France has 16 regions on red heatwave alert today, & the Eiffel Tower is closed. #Portugal & #Spain already broke their June records with 46°C. Usually, heat builds over July/August-this is a reminder we are entering a new climate

The #French are being baked like a baguette by climate change- #France and #Paris are on course to roast this Wednesday. It's like a heat dome is sitting over the entire country. This will be extremely dangerous for those without access to cooling and for vulnerable groups.

It's not "just summer" when you have temperatures 12°C higher than normal covering France on the 1st day of July. These are hazardous heat waves becoming more frequent and driven by global warming trends. We weren't supposed to see these repeating heatwaves for decades.

Paris could see temperatures of 45°C next week, taking into account the heat island effect, with tropical nights also. Europe and the Mediterranean are experiencing the fastest warming in recorded human history. Hard not to ask: what will 2035 look like at this rate?

This is what happens when comedians who obviously flunked high school science start doing mental gymnastics to “disprove” climate change, it’s less stand-up and more flat-Earth TED Talk.

France and Spain are dealing with an extreme heat wave, with temperatures soaring to 40 °C plus in many regions. Climate change makes these heatwave events up to 10x more likely. This is not normal, this is not "summer" - the global thermostat is being turned up rapidly.

#Spain and #Portugal's southern regions are expected to face an unbearable heatwave this coming weekend, with the heat index potentially exceeding 50°C (122°F) in some areas. #Climate change threatens to push these already arid areas into desertification. #ClimateCrisis

The Mediterranean Sea is overheating again. Temperature anomalies are greater than 5°C above normal for this time of year. Long-term ecological damage to marine species will have huge consequences for the region and beyond.

Study reveals that many climate models predicting lower climate sensitivity—don’t align with the real world! It’s like experts predicting that some horses will run slowly in a race, but when the race actually happens, those horses bolt out
