I know sports gambling is fun. Let's keep fun things fun. I'm not against it, I'm just annoyed by how it's metastasized into our culture and sports. I won't keep harping on the reasons why sports gambling is a net negative. It's a free country - unless you lose it all gamblingđ.

Practically, it isn't working either. Nearly every major sports league has been investigated and found guilty of inside "fixing" practices. Who wants to bet on something that is fixed? Who wants to invest anything on lies? I'm a sports fan, why should I even watch now? Its broke.

I get it, sports gambling is fun. I can't imagine it is a smart investment for anyone long-term other than "the house" who wins most of the time. We all have "entertainment budgets", yet I know people who play with serious money that could've been invested in better ways.

I know people who had never placed a single bet until the past couple of years when it's become nationally more accepted and legal. Now they are virtually addicted. I read an article that cited sports gambling as being twice as addictive vs other forms of betting.
