I recently came back to Twitter after a nearly 2 year hiatus, in an attempt to "connect" more. In that time, I've been in & out of hospital, and have been bed-ridden for 4+ months. Most of my time is spent online or reading (I can't do much else). This sums up my X thoughts

I have friends in Gãzzã. Real life human friends. They are artists, dancers, painters, illustrators, academics, humanitarian workers — and therapists. That's why I'm not on x right now. My friends are dying. That is all.

I've been off twitter, the symbol formally known as. Too busy with my humanitarian & creative work that's providing me enough mental exhaustion along with all my comorbidities & complex physical, neurological and mental illnesses, than to be hunted down & targetted by vile ppl.

OK. Taking some inspiration from @DrAnnieHickox - I will attempt to share some written personal work regarding my own mental illness journey. I spent 365 days (give or take) - in a state that the leading MH doctor in my state said was, "like nothing he'd ever seen before."

1. I am not a qualified Psychologist nor a practicing one. Though I've studied & trained in Mental Health, started my Psychology degree, and have worked in advocacy & writing in the field for many years. 2. I am not a Professor? Don't know why I need to clarify that?

I haven't covered all my experience here, or the multiple certificates I possess in various areas. But I think this about sums it up - I'm a complex weirdo - with a plethora of experience, qualifications & wide areas of interest. Things I am not - below:

Then my studies were suddenly cut short - due to sudden onset, complex illness. In the past couple of years, I've had periods of relative good health juxtaposed with long hospital admissions, and bed-ridden stages.

Psychology, Law & Research A couple of years ago, I decided to go back to study as a "mature-aged student" I made my way through a fair bit of it - got HD's for most units, wrote some rad research proposals, connected with some cool cats (here included). Wrote some articles.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT (?) A couple of weeks ago I got a notification from X basically saying I'd been shadow banned. Which is evident, because I'm not getting any engagement anymore -unless someone else reposts me. It was related to "false identity" 🧵

“How many patient’s have you cured?” is an uninformed and naive question. I’m positive the person asking the question could not define what he means by “cured” in any sensible way. Obviously, a meaningful answer hinges on that One plausible definition—but I don’t think it’s a

A question was asked of a psychiatrist outside of a #psychiatry conference venue: "Doctor, how many patients have you cured?" Answer: "Well, cured, yes... I can't claim that I have cured many patients. I think cure in psychiatry is... a very high ambition." #mentalhealth
