The government shut down restaurants across the country causing 90% drop in sales immediately for many months and longer depending on the state. The America Rescue Plan promised RRF program but only helped 1/3, and then left the rest with nothing.

It’s too bad @senrobportman - as a restaurant owner yourself who did receive #RRF funding - you chose not to support the same for the rest of us. Restaurant owners who applied for relief and didn’t get it are circling the drain…today you ensured many of them disappear forever.
What a great story! As a restaurant owner myself, this really strikes a chord. Huge thanks to @stoolpresidente & @BarstoolFund for all that you are doing to help small businesses during these unprecedented times.

Deeply disappointing, to say the least. 177,300 Mom & Pop, independent, neighborhood restaurants eligible for the RRF, then abandoned by the US Govt. Absolutely disgraceful that Auto, Banking, Insurance, + Airline 'bailouts' ok, but restaurants + #SmallBiz failed by 'our' Govt.

Maybe a whole new piece of legislation might be a good option for a stand alone or reconciliation. Maybe Rep Dean Phillips could be our campion. “Abandoned Restaurants Act” or ARA… RRF might be dead but ARA could be a new path…
