City of Hope in Duarte, CA, has maintained masking requirements, and this has prevented hospital-acquired COVID-19 there entirely, according to Dr. Trisal, chief medical officer. “Our policies enabled us to achieve 0 nosocomial infections, 0 outbreaks." https://t.co/FTxDNRU80i

One of the most important myth-busting deep-dives I've ever done. What was the real impact of Covid school closures? Were they avoidable? Did they cause 'learning loss' & mental health decline? What's the impact of Covid on kids' health? Please do watch: https://t.co/qHgwYA5b0I

Imagine consuming primarily milk and puréed vegetables your entire life, then trying ice cream for the very first time. I can’t stop watching this little one’s reaction. 😄

CDC is now forecasting an acceleration in new COVID-19 hospitalizations over the coming month, the agency said this week, replacing a previous projection that admissions would "remain stable or have an uncertain trend." But let’s do nothing …

So far, the CDC doesn't think the highly mutated BA.2.86 variant is to blame.

This is sad. Having so many kids sick so often is a choice society has made. We didn’t see this type of sickness at Abrome because we simply refused to accept mass infection as necessary, unavoidable, or desirable. I’ll never be okay with how society throws away kids.

I would wear a high quality #mask in a crowed airport. WHY? 1. @CDCgov #COVID19 positivity rate in airports seem to be hovering around 20% (much higher than baseline community positivity rates reported) H/T @TaylorLorenz

A Japanese study shows that bringing CO2 levels below 540-620 ppm brings down transmission levels such that COVID stops spreading exponentially (R0 < 1). A simple CO2 monitor is one of the most powerful ways to raise awareness regarding poor indoor air.

Breaking: a new study says a covid infection can stop new neurons forming in the brain, a key neurological process that enables the brain to renew itself. The stalling of this process leads to a "quickening of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease." 🧵
