Just out! The latest in my Tales from Virgil’s Aeneid: "Achates: Soul of a Hero". I have cheekily envisaged Aeneas’s sidekick “faithful Achates” as a Molossian hound. It will give readers a totally new perspective on Virgil’s masterpiece. Cover by @flaroh .

Saw Mystery Cult expert @hughbowden & archaeologists Louise Fowler & Sophie Jackson of @MOLArchaeology for a new installation by at the London #Mithraeum. Sophie said they need more archaeologists! Not all for digs in London, some in more rural areas.

So thrilled and grateful for this puff for 'Pantheon: an Illustrated Handbook to the Greek Gods and Goddesses' by the wonderful Professor Mary Beard. 🥰 And well-deserved praise for the talented Flora Kirk who illustrated it. 💙@wmarybeard @flaroh.

My playful retelling of Virgil’s Aeneid from the POV of Aeneas’s companion "faithful Achates" – imagined as a dog! – is aimed at teen and YA readers. But if you love myths & animals, you might enjoy it, too. #MythRetelling #TrojanWar #Odyssey #Argus #Epic.
