Suggested that the site helped serve passing trade on the busy Roman road, "it really could be a 2,000-year-old service station" - Alex Thomson, Oxford Cotswold Archaeology. Uncovered at the site were items including ovens, coins, brooches and 420kg of pottery and animal bone 2/2.

Tonight on @BBC Digging for Britain, the discovery of a small Roman town in Gloucestershire. Great context for CLC Stages in Britannia, especially new Book 3. Director Caroline is particularly excited as she grew up near here and taught down the road!.

This exciting work just goes to show how much there is still to learn - we can't wait to find out what is discovered next!. Why not integrate this work into your teaching of CLC Book 1 or maybe do some cross curricular work with your science department? #ArchaeologyIsCool 6/6.

4 people from the House of the Golden Bracelet, traditionally thought to be 2 parents and their children, actually have no genetic ties to each other. A 'mother' wearing a golden bracelet and holding 'her' child, is in fact an adult man holding an unrelated child. 4/.

Previous assumptions were based on physical appearance and the positioning of the bodies/casts, but DNA evidence extracted from remains embedded in 14 of the 86 casts often contradicted these conclusions. 2/.
