@myobstetrician Yes. Those exercises have long been a part of good waiting list management, or should have been. What's unusual is trusts being actively incentivised to remove patients at a time of great political pressure to show waiting lists falling. See Nuffield Trust research this week.

One simple yet powerful way you can help a disabled person is by offering to be an advocate in healthcare settings. Hospitals, and the ER in particular, are dangerous places for people with disabilities. Having someone with you at all times can drastically improve outcomes.

And finally, the unfortunate pathways for women who present with abdominal pain... Getting stuck somewhere between ED, gynae and surgeons, on a poorly designed pathway is a potential recipe for misdiagnosis.
