Football referee for 27 years. Proud to be a Court Clerk at the most famous Criminal Court in the world, the Old Bailey. All views are mine and not my employers
On this day in 1997 I started work as a Court Usher at Tottenham Magistrates' Court, 25 years later I'm a Court Clerk at the most incredible Crown Court in the World, the Old Bailey working with the most incredible people and what's more still loving every minute of it.
I am really pissed about negative comments on this media about
@ChesterfieldFC
, yes ok I'm a Barnet supporter, but let's face it they have without doubt proved to be the very best Club in the League this season, I wish them much success and enjoy a much deserved promotion
Today I'm fortunate to be clerking the validiction of one of the finest Judges I have had the pleasure to work with, His Honour Judge John Hillen in Court 1 of the Old Bailey, a very Happy and Healthy retirement My Lord.
On this date 11 years ago I excitedly started work at the most incredible place, the Old Bailey, 11 years later, believe it or not, thanks to amazing Judges, amazing Barristers and amazing colleagues, I still get excited at going to work!
At 10.30 in Court 5 Old Bailey Court Staff & Barristers welcomed the latest member of the Old Bailey family the brilliant,Her Honour Judge Judy Khan KC.Only one man can deliver such a fantastic welcome,the equally brilliant James Scobie KC, despite Man Utd losing yesterday!
I just want to assure all my twitter buddies that after today's news about the fire at the Old Bailey, it's been an awful day, but my colleagues and I are fine. The Bailey will be closed tomorrow but hopefully back up and running Friday. Thank you for all your messages
May I respectively suggest that every commentar on BBC and ITV just take a bit of time to read the Laws of the Game, not rules, Laws and maybe then they will understand decisions made by the top Referees in the World
I'm delighted and honoured to say that alongside my colleague Duncan, today we clerked the first CVP hearing at the Old Bailey and despite my mechanical failings it went really well!
To all my lovely followers, sorry I haven't tweeted earlier but, and I don't want anyone to worry, had to spend 6 hours at A&E yesterday and am currently at the Royal Free Hospital awaiting minor surgery, please don't worry, Happy New Year to you all and thanks for being pals

I am sure all my colleagues at the Old Bailey would agree how sad we all are, Di was an incredible 'people person', so warm and genuine, as Clerks and Ushers we allooked forward to sharing the same Court Room as her, Di, on behalf of all the Old Bailey, RIP xx
Just took a call from
@RefereeHalsey
Mark Halsey who is just as annoyed and disgusted by the standard of officiating we have just seen, is it not time that
@FA_PGMOL
saw sense and employed the likes of Mark and
@no1lino
Glenn Turner to get those of us that care out of this mess
To all my fellow refereeing colleagues retired or active, just imagine having these two legends running the line for you,
@no1lino
Glenn Turner and Phillip Sharp, two of the best Assistant Referee's the Premier League will ever have, top guys!
As a birthday present a very good friend of mine bought me 2 tickets for a tour of the Emirates Stadium, here's my good friend Annie and I signing up for the new season!
I am constantly critical of the Elite List of Referee's,but have to say for the second week running,imo,Anthony Taylor has produced incredible performances,his interpretation,his common sense and above all his knowledge of football is excellent,
@FA_PGMOL
take note
@seventiesuk
Big Daddy, King Kong Kirk, Brian Crabtree, Giant Haystacks, Mick Mcmanas, Cyanide Syd Cooper, Rollerball Rocco, Jim Breaks, Mal Saunders, Wayne Bridges
NOT EVERY FOUL IS A YELLOW CARD, in capital's because I'm angry, Madley has successfully missed the important decisions and has needed help, the one decision that was easy and he's mucked up..
On this day in 1989 96 football supporters left their homes to watch a football match,that evening 96 football supporters never returned to their homes,figure now 97,we should never forget and always remember and respect those who lost their lives and the families effected.
On behalf of the thousands and thousands of grass roots Referee's across the Country, I would like to thank Dermot Gallagher for all his help and support, absolutely disgraceful, he should be ashamed of himself
Had a great day with 2 of my oldest friends
@Giloboy
Giles Pratt and Shaun Harris, first meet up in 30 years, promise not to leave it so long next time!
@no1lino
@JackJones13579
@RefereeHalsey
How Webb can continue to defend the undefendable is beyond me, he has not changed anything least of all the overall standard of officiating which imo is the worst I have ever seen, needs a complete change of personnel
On my way to Chesterfield to see my good friend
@no1lino
Glenn Turner for a good catchup, a few beers and to watch
@ChesterfieldFC
v
@WealdstoneFC
tomorrow, photos to follow....
Monday 15 April is incredibly the 35 anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster when 97 Liverpool supporters went to a football match and never returned home,for the last 34 years I have lit a candle for those who needlessly lost their lives,I shall do the same Monday,RIP
Bit of a busmans holiday, got a few day's off am currently having dinner in the Premier Inn Norwich, tomorrow off to Norwich Crown Court to observe and hopefully pick up some tips about Common Platform🤭🤭🤭
Had a fantastic afternoon with my good friend Dickie Davies
@DickieSoccerSat
,how on earth
@SkySports
can let such a talented journalist as him go is beyond me,so pleased he's looking so well and delighted to hear from him that
@JeffStelling
is loving life,good luck to both of you
Last week my cooker packed up, this week my fridge freezer packed up, I now have gout, feeling sorry for myself, but hey you know what there's a lot worse going on in the World at the moment, I'll get over it, I just hope and pray that friends and colleagues with Covid get well
Just wanted to say that the service I have received from the staff at
@TUIUK
Enfield Town has been first class. Nothing has been to much for them, will definitely go back again, well done!
I see Anthony Taylor has been appointed to referee Napoli v Frankfurt in the Champions League, however with a var team from The Netherlands, now I wonder why that is?
What a sad day, first Jimmy Greaves,one of the greatest goal scorers of all time, now Boycie one of the greatest used car salesmen of all time, very sad day, RIP guys
@1968Tv
Fortunate to have known personally 2 involved,the late John Motson, President of the Barnet Sunday League while I was Secretary and Referee's Secretary and the late Billy Meadows who played in that game,I was fortunate to meet when he managed a youth side in Borehamwood,2 legends
Shocking scenes from the Rangers Celtic game, Fabio Silva has just been shot, oh hold on, he's just got up...what's the word I'm looking for, oh yes, CHEAT!!!!!!
@205hammer
@HACKETTREF
Hi Andrew, Keith has shared his refereeing CV, pretty impressive don't you think, why don't you share your refereeing CV with us.
Had an interesting morning at Norwich Crown Court, thank you to all the staff who made me so welcome, saw a bit of how common platform works, can't wait🤔🤔🤔
@no1lino
@RefereeHalsey
@HACKETTREF
How on earth can anybody doubt any performance from Anthony Taylor, in the past year, in my limited opinion, he appears to have worked hard on his management skills, his confidence and his ability to earn the badge on his chest, top man!
@TalkingPicsTV
Hi, absolutely love your channel, any chance of seeing the original TV Series of Batman, that would really take me back to my childhood! Thank you
I am an employee of Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunals, when I have been given the opportunity to mourn the passing of our Glorious Queen, I will be proud to be an employee of His Majesty's Courts and Tribunals

Please don't forget Court Staff who haven't stopped throughout the pandemic and especially those working in Nightingale Courts having to deal with trial after trial after trial on a daily basis
Should we be talking about the Elite List, then clearly Howard Webb needs a great deal of help, I sincerely hope that he looks no further than
@RefereeHalsey
Mark Halsey and
@no1lino
Glenn Turner to assist him in what is a real challenge
Twitter buddies, today my friend of 45 years lost his battle with cancer, Gary fought and fought and fought, sadly he lost the battle, his pain is no more and may he rest in peace. My love to his wife Amanda and daughter Molly, my thanks to

@retrofootballnw
Gerald was a qualified and active referee. I met him back in the 70's on a Sunday morning at Hendon Playing Fields. We were both refereeing matches in the Hendon Sunday League, great guy, brilliant sense of humour, totally dedicated to football
No doubt this will be controversial, but as far as I am concerned Simon Hooper had a good game, he was confident, controlled and very much in control, good performance
@pjm1kbw
I met Lord Judge once when he visited the Bailey about 6 years ago, he insisted on meeting and talking to Clerks and Ushers, I had the feeling I was in the presence of a very special man and I was right, may you rest in peace.
Do you remember the day's when you went or watched a football match, knew who the referee was but for 90 minutes didn't notice him, Championship Play Off Final, Coventry City v Luton Town, referee Michael Oliver, enough said!
Just watched a fantastic game of football from the National League, Southend against Chesterfield, credit to both teams and superbly refereed by Stephen Parkinson, credit to all
@HACKETTREF
@KenStephenson20
@FA_PGMOL
Mr Webb, far from me to tell you the job you have on your hands but it seems to me the more help you can get would be of great advantage to everybody,
@RefereeHalsey
I would encourage you to involve Mark Halsey, I know you know and respect, the ideal person to assist.
Let's just take a moment to think about David Brooks diagnosed with Hodgin lymphoma in Oct 21 and now all clear and on the bench today for
@afcbournemouth
, David onwards and upwards mate
@FA_PGMOL
@EFL
Jarnail Singh was without doubt the best referee I saw at Barnet, brilliant man manager, excellent judgement and always looked as though he was enjoying himself, top man!
