Good to have the legality of Glasgow’s Low Emissions Zone confirmed. Action to change behaviour that damages human & environmental health is always going to be challenging but it’s essential if we’re ever going to tackle the deep health inequalities we’ve tolerated for too long
Glasgow’s Low Emission Zone has been upheld. The LEZ is an important public health measure, addressing harmful and illegal levels of air pollution in the city centre which contribute to hundreds of deaths in Glasgow a year and ill-health for many more. https://t.co/TOmsoWV62g

Humza Yousaf has conducted himself with astonishing dignity and composure during what must be an agonising emotional period for his family.
"I may be First Minister of Scotland, but in this situation I feel powerless" Scotland's First Minister, Humza Yousaf, tells @KathrynSamsonC4 he feels "helpless" watching his in-laws who are trapped in Gaza.

Geography, for Hebrideans .… If you imagine a strip of coast the length of “the West Side” of the Isle of Lewis from Carloway up to the Port of Ness, between about 4 & 7 miles wide and with a population of about 2 million (double greater Glasgow) - then that’s the #Gaza Strip.

There have been some important discussions around the major design changes in REF2028. I’m this blog I argue that there are always unintended consequences with changes in REF (based on my experience in assisting with REF2021 design). We need care and attention to get it right.
NEW on Wonkhe: REF 2028 needs very careful design, argues Anton Muscatelli – based around what can be genuinely and rigorously measured across institutions @UofGVC

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow: This rather ‘Candyman’ moment in the Steamie at the back of @GovanhillBaths caught my eye in what is shaping up to be a fine and rather modern space (especially for 1917) within the refurbished Baths. The quality of light is quite something 😮🥰!

Acres of discarded oil based products. This is shocking, decadent, wasteful and profoundly non-sustainable @JustStop_Oil

Africa is underrepresented in the global financial architecture, just as it lacks a permanent seat on the Security Council. The world has changed. Global governance must change with it. We need reforms to make global frameworks truly universal & representative of today's world.

If you haven't already heard: we're doing a walking tour of the whole Garden Festival site as part of @Glasgowdodf. It's a very difficult landscape to visualise but plenty of expert advice (and some suprising surviving fragments) will help you to do so.
