There are supposedly educated people who think that sugar addiction is not a "thing". One of them apparently is Keith Littlewood @BalancedBM. Probably Keith needs to talk to. @BittenJonsson and @DoctorTro both of whom had some personal experience with the problem (as did I).

@LoreofRunning1 @grantsnz @BittenJonsson She's a victim of the continuing erroneous thinking that exercise is a main driver of weight loss. Michelle Obama promoted it too (Let's Move) and while the Biggest Loser showed it is possible when taken to ridiculous extremes, for most of us, a low-carb direction is best.

You can be sugar-free and still addicted to sugar. Because detox doesn’t heal behavior. It doesn’t retrain your nervous system. It just removes the substance. What matters more: the detox… or what comes after?

@erinlbellamy Interesting! It always seemed logical to me that a craving and addiction/compulsion circuit would be common to all sorts of substances we develop that kind of relationship with. @BittenJonsson

Over the years I've observed that it's the creative scientists, not scared to be wrong, who are more likely to understand the relevance of n=1 observations. This is beautifully shown in one scene from the film https://t.co/TllcbzRMJt of the WarGamers. In that scene, the WW1
