You can help House Sparrows by improving their access to nest sites. One way to do this is by putting up a nest box with a 32mm hole. Unlike most birds, House Sparrows aren’t territorial, meaning you can put up several boxes on a single wall. #Winterwatch @BBCSpringwatch

Small numbers of Red-throated & Black-throated Divers breed in northern Scotland but Great Northern Divers are present only in winter. All 3 winter in coastal waters around the UK and can look very similar, but there are a few features to look out for #Winterwatch @BBCSpringwatch
