My views on Covid, restrictions, masks, testing and the role governments play has changed wildly in the past 2 years. Has anyone not changed their positions on most Covid related things since Jan 20? I was pro lockdown, pro mask, pro governments stepping in, etc. Now I'm not.

Today would be an amazing day to allow fully vaccinated people to return to Australia in unlimited numbers and go straight to their homes, rather than wasting time and money in hotel quarantine. Hotel quarantine serves no purposes in NSW/VIC for the fully vaccinated! End it now!

Today would be a good day to abolish all border restrictions in Australia. Why on earth do any quarantine requirements exist? Why can tourists not enter freely? Covid is more prevalent in Australia than most of the world. Yet the border is shut to most of the world. Why?

@sinebrien This really isn't making the point you think it is. You're so so close to getting it, yet somehow miss the most basic answer.

@Ride4Truth Wow, the hatred and lack of civility you have your parents is digusting. They apparently did a very poor job instilling manners and respect into you. Also clearly failed to teach you how to think critically and learn real risk tolerance.

One of the most ghoulish tweets you'll ever seen on Covid Twitter. This person is not a good person.

My neighbors refuse to mask & say the pandemic is “over.” Tues I saw wife putting garbage out & asked about husband? “Oh, he’s inside with that covid cold.” That “covid cold” killed him. Coroner taking out the body now. Wear a mask. 😷

@CrabbBrendan They've been reported on every single day... Not out of sight at all. They're discussed more than basically any other deaths in the world? What on Earth are you talking about?

Here's a little illustration of Covid with an R0 of 18 and "No Immunity". Two very popular talking points of the ZC community lately. By the 4th reproductive period (16 days) ~105 billion people are infected. The population of Earth is ~7.753 Billion (give or take).

Early morning in Sydney. Last time I'll see it for a long while I suspect. Australia has been a fantastic place to live for the past 5 or so years. But now it's back to the US and Florida. Back to 'normality' in a few ways I suppose. But also back to insanity.

This is everything wrong with the ZC misanthropes. Totally dismissing emotional and psychological harm in most of the population, especially kids, because it isn't physical harm. When will society understand. Psychological harm can be WORSE than physical harm??

@AlexisKat6 @longcovidthots @MartyMakary Oh boo hoo. Kids missed out on prom while millions of people can’t get out of bed or have to be on 10 different meds just to go to the bathroom. I honestly don’t give a fuck about kids being sad they couldn’t hang out with friends.

@mail_american @mattyglesias But prices didn't go up at all because Biden offset the drop. Thus SA is selling less oil at the same or less money, meaning a huge loss in revenue.

I understand not everyone has yet made this transition yet. I know some made it a while before me. I know some are further along this path than I am. But one thing I know. Nearly everyone will take this journey at some point. Very few people go the opposite direction.

@AstorAaron 95% of these people are broken and most were either already broken before Covid or were on the verge of being broken. They are generally either misanthropes or germaphobes or both. And almost all are hardcore ZC. I pity them, but I also fear them. They want lockdowns.

Obviously true, factual tweet. Responses? Totally wackadoodle. There's a lot of very broken people that cannot comprehend the situation is better than they thought it would be.

@Kit_Yates_Maths I've had a few colds or allergies every year of my life. I've still never had covid. But yup, totally fine adding covid to the list of minor illnesses I might get each year. Much better than the alternative of adding in restrictions that likely wouldn't even have any impact.

@RuncibleH If you believe that nsw is altering or falsifying their data without any evidence then you're a conspiracy theorist. And there's no evidence of fraud. If anything the data looks real and natural to me.. Having analyzed it for a long time now. Please stop spreading conspiracies.

We're almost halfway through January, a month after opening the border to more visa holders and yet there's absolutely zero talk about when most of the world can come to Australia again. Why? Open the border now! What the hell is Australia doing? Why is it shut still??

According to this tweet, nearly every person on Earth has... let me check the wording... "betrayed the fundamental value of their own being" This strikes me as... not likely to be true. Rather, a ludicrous moralistic judgement by a germaphobic misanthrope.

This is how I've been feeling. I'm extremely left wing... But I feel like many of the politicians and celebrities on the left have abdicated their beliefs out of fear of Covid. Leaving me feeling more like a conservative even though I still believe all the things I used to...

I rushed to get him an actual PCR (get your proof, you’ll need it), & it was a fight to get him paxlovid, though we got it & a few other things. I’ve taped off my room, made him a 5 day snack, hydration & med prep tray, & I’m just here livid, defeated and hoping for the best. 4/

@mattyglesias Sopranos wasn't a good show by todays standards. Watched it for the first time. It felt VERY dated. Characters were like characatures. Mostly annoying. Plots were not great in general. It may have shaped TV, but like the Godfather it doesn't hold up to modern alternatives.

@luckytran "Masks work against all airborne viruses" Not all masks. Most masks do absolutely nothing vs airborne viruses. Nor are they supposed to. N95 do a fair bit if fit-tested. N99 and N100 are exremely effective if properly fitted. None of which rely on anyone else masking.
