Thrilled to see both Lac-Phe studies published back-to-back—and to have my first paper among them! 🌟 A heartfelt thanks to @DavidFinlayTCD and @lynchielydia for their guidance, and kudos to the entire team at the @longlabstanford!.
Work from the Long Lab @longlabstanford and our lab working with @DavidFinlayTCD on links between metformin, and eating (especially solid food) on Lac-Phe levels and appetite suppression @NatMetabolism.

Hi @tarateslaa I found your #METPHYS2021 DAY 4 talk very interesting thanks! Do I understand correctly, fast twitch muscles tend to used glycogen rather than glucose? and likely fully breakdown this through the TCA rather than exporting as lactate? Would exercise change this?.

I think this is a very important point. Under-reporting of the most recent days seems inevitable, perhaps artificially flattening the graph, @GeorgeLeeRTE I think this should be pointed out in the article.
@GeorgeLeeRTE He specifically cautioned against interpreting that there had been a peak in deaths. We cannot make such a conclusion for some weeks yet. The declining red bars in your graph may yet be uplifted by deaths which have occurred but which have not yet been notified.
