2026 - anyone arguing that seeds oils are fine needs to add the role of oxylipins to their CPD list
@BANTonline @YouTube Added P2-HNF4α alters linoleic acid metabolism and mitigates soybean oil-induced obesity: role for oxylipins to my reading list.

Twelve years on from Nutrition Society calling it 'improper' for SACN to ignore evidence on fructose - please do not make same mistake @NICEComms Fatty liver is a big problem now in children. @CommonsHealth @LaylaMoran
@timspector @BBCFoodProg @SheilaDillon @PHE_uk @DiabetesUK Levy said SACN looked at totality of evidence on Carbs in 2015 - not true. SACN ignored fructose. @NutritionSoc said 'improper' and SACN ignored that. Not pukka @PHE_uk

For 2026 : reduced risk of disease or prevention claim? What is 'prevention' at the mitochondrial level? Tea Polyphenols protects against oxidative stress-triggered neurons damage by ameliorating mitochondrial dysfunction and modulating AKT/CREB/BDNF and Keap-1/Nrf2 signaling

A key priority to ask @wesstreeting when you can @CommonsHealth
Hey @wesstreeting here's a simple way to save the NHS £924million annually: replicate Norwood GP Surgery nationally. In fact, make a low carb solid food diet an option in the NHS Path To Remission program (it currently isn't). The cost to roll this out is minimal, the savings

Is @EFSA correct to say 'Maltodextrin is result of enzymatic breakdown of starch: the manufacturing process mimics what will happen in the digestion of starch by humans. For this reason there is no need for a quantitative consumer risk assessment'? Really?? @foodgov
In 2013 EFSA produced a pesticide risk assessment of maltodextrin (MDX) https://t.co/p1HxD2H5E8 'A high risk to bees cannot be excluded'

Are you publishing MASLD Committee list @NICEComms ? Very disappointing that prevention of fatty liver is not a priority topic in your forthcoming guidance update @CommonsHealth

In EU and GB law maltodextrin is an ingredient not an additive. Therefore it must be included in an updated @DHSCgovuk Nutrient Profiling Model or reasons given as to why maltodextrin is healthier than sucrose: an empty calories is an empty calorie. @CommonsHealth
Maltodextrin-driven energy flow: Maltodextrin intake → rapid glucose release → mitochondrial overload (ATP + ROS) → ER–mitochondria crosstalk → protein misfolding and ER stress (IRE1β, PERK, p38 MAPK) → reduced mucin secretion → mucus barrier depletion → inflammation.

Everyone talks about “energy,” like the body runs on calories or motivation. It doesn’t. It runs on timing: the nanoscale choreography between protons, electrons, and the electromagnetic field your cells sit inside. Mitochondria aren’t power plants. They’re voltage regulators,
