A common theme in Banana republics propaganda is always about tall buildings, some infrastructure project, scenery, animals, etc. It's never about real people in their day to day lives. Even the art is almost always depicting animals. Compare that to Communist states foreample.

A new trend I've observed in Tz (though it might not materialize) is Christian churches increasingly taking the role of the major opposition to the government, its still its infancy and might be a response to this year's sham election.

I think the key to many the psychology of many (though not all) Israelis is a firm belief that the world has always secretly hated them anyway. The "New Historians" don't penetrate the curriculum as the notion that Israel only won statehood on Western sufferance is too important.
