“Studies have shown that current gowns provide inadequate protection to breast tissue as they leave the upper outer quadrant and axilla exposed” Data complicated due to ‘relatively small’ numbers of women working in T&O cardiology and IR specialties So tired of this rubbish!!

5-year patient survival after Extent I-III #fbevar #taaa is ~50%, similar to #CHF survival and less than population. 9 out 10 patients die from non aortic causes. What’s next: more compliant stents? Better medical therapy? We need to stop focus more on survival not stent outcomes

🚨 It's crazy that the NHS has told 350 doctors training in anaesthesia that the NHS has no job for them after 3 years training. At the same time we have massive shortages of, you guessed it, anaesthetists. These self-defeating bottlenecks defy logic. Statement from @RCoANews

When I told @ASiTofficial that 19% of men and 7% of women (p<0.009) would code a lap chole as supervised- trainer scrubbed, where they put the ports in and then closed the ports and skin only it clearly made an impact.

I knew it wouldn't take long. The 'average earnings' comment. Our earnings = base pay. Not 13 PAs or including WLIs or covering long term gaps on rotas, if you do a dr & a half's work pay is going to look better. But base take home pay, in real terms, is down 35% to April 22.

I love the scientific work around great teams and often teach it. But what seems to get taken for granted by the Googles et al (because they have functioning systems) is that there is a co-dependency between capability, capacity and culture. Without capacity you are screwed.

Wow! @BBCNews found a woman whose daughter’s outpt appointment was cancelled today. They clearly thought she would be anti the nurses strikes. Instead she gave the most intelligent and empassioned argument for decent pay for nurses I have heard yet. Bravo!
