Your universal screener does not guide how you will sort students. It helps you design the focus of tier 1 instruction - the system of instruction ALL students will receive. Provide what students need during universal instruction. It starts there. @sstollar6

HOW WE STUDY WORDS: I use a framework I call The 4-Step Process. It helps students focus on various forms of the words they're studying close together. The family of words generated depends on the focus of the lesson at any given time.

But as with linguistics, phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics are interrelated yet still distinct enough to be separate studies.
