Microglia (🟡) and Aβ plaques (🔵) in the thalamus of a 1-year-old 5xFAD mouse. Whenever I look at these images, I wonder if microglia are attracted to plaque areas because they: 1) further deposit Aβ into plaques, 2) attempt to degrade plaques, or 3) both. #FluorescenceFriday
