I feel really honored of receiving the Angelika Amon Young Scientist Award from MIT, specially as a 1st generation graduate student from a low-income family in Mexico. This was only possible thanks to the efforts of my family, and also the support of my advisor

Thrilled to share that our paper describing a platform for growing the mouse embryo from pre-gastrulation to advanced organogenesis is out today on Nature!
Excited to be presenting this Friday 25th my recent work on ex utero culture of mouse embryos

I had a blast traveling to MIT for the Angelika Amon young scientist award ceremony. It was a dream to present my work at the Luria auditorium at the Kock Institute, and to meet so many amazing scientists. Thanks to Angelika's family and MIT for this opportunity!
“Today I could see some of the same love and passion for science that I saw in Angelika, and that just what we wanted to capture.”

New paper from the lab!
We developed an optogenetic tool, OptoShroom3, to induce apical constriction in illuminated cells(left).
By controlling cell shapes, OptoShroom3 can induce tissue shape changes, including lumen shrinkage of neural organoids(right).
Poder ver nuestras células fuera del organismo nos revelaría importante información sobre nuestra salud.

Hi Angelo. The difference is that we made an electronic controller device and gas mixing and pressurising box that control many parameters of the device, otherwise the embryos cannot be grown for several days. We also found the media termed EUCM that is crucial for this.

pays me ~$20k/year 70% of which goes to rent. I am one of 54 grad workers who got fired today for striking. Not only admin exacerbated our financial situation, the reason we went on strike, but my visa status may be jeopardized now.
@transavia
Yesterday I was denied to board the flight from Nantes to Tel Aviv by the transavia personnel, even when I hold a Israeli student visa valid until June 2020. They falsely argued that I needed to have a flight out of Israel. But no airline ever asked me for that.
