In 2012 I lived 2 blocks from here, it was basically a crappy bench w/ no barrier to the Det River. I was in a dark & wild part of my early 20s & would go down there in the middle of the night & smoke cigs/cry. Now it’s Riverside Park. A beautiful and thriving public space. 😍😍

After a year of paying bills in Philly, I can officially say I pay less in rent, groceries, and utilities. Also transportation costs are ZERO because I have a reliable bus and a walkable neighborhood, including 6 affordable grocery stores/markets. I WANT THIS FOR YOU SO BAD 😩😭

It is WILD to me that the rental market in Philly is cheaper than Detroit. I saw a STUDIO in Detroit listed for $1800, for the same price in Philly I can have two bedrooms, outdoor space, in unit washer/dryer, and access to public transit and other urban amenities. What gives?!

When I was 10 I started a summer camp for kids in the neighborhood. We charged $15 a week and had a full itinerary, themes for each day, a budget, and a showcase on the last day. Price went up to $150 on year 2 and I did it every summer til I was 17.
