to anyone starting residency or starting practice soon: it takes MORE effort & time to develop the person you are than to learn medicine set this tone early. Person 1st Physician 2nd there’s no physician without the person.

when I was younger I suffered from very heavy standardized test anxiety it was NOT helpful when people said “you will be fine” or “you’ll do great” what DID help me was when someone said “worst case scenario you can take it again” it was reassuring to hear life can go on.
