Dr. @rajivxgulati, et al offer a collection of observations that support an alternate hypothesis in many cases—that #SCAD is a secondary event instigated by SICM (Takotsubo and variants). Learn more here: https://t.co/K3GCQIpS78 #JACCAdvances #cvCAD

In this meta-analysis of 26 RCTs we found a favorable effect of thrombus aspiration on post-infarction LV remodeling, ultimately influenced by mean ischemic time, target vessel and device employed. Available online on #IJC

#TCT2023 Pat w LVEF <50% and FFR less than ∼0.75 or w stenoses 90%-99% will demonstrate an improvement in LVEF with PCI. Those with FFR >∼0.75 or with angiographic stenoses <70% are unlikely to benefit. Resting indices appear unable to predict improvement in LVEF.

Among patients with MI and FFR-negative nonculprit lesions, presence of OCT-defined high-risk plaques is associated with worse clinical outcome, which is mainly driven by higher number of unplanned revascularizations https://t.co/bLTGjwF6Y4 @JAMACardio

We performed an updated NMA comparing IVUS, OCT, and CA in PCI (6 yrs after the last NMA). Topic inspired by #SCAI2022. Included 28 RCTs and only RCTs. Check out our paper for results: https://t.co/CgbEeUbN8T Special thank you to @VijAviral @MichaelGNanna @SVRaoMD @SteveAChicago

1/4: Patients with left main and/or multivessel CAD at prohibitive surgical risk pose a clinical dilemma due to complex coexisting illness, frailty, and complex anatomy. Few data exist to inform guidelines for their treatment, given their absent representation in prior trials.

Imagine we invented an infusion to be given during PCI (SUVI infusion) which would take 20min, cost a few hundred dollars per case and be virtually free of side effects. Imagine SUVI infusion RCTs with 2.5k patients showed a HR of 0.43 for death at 3 years. Follow me below…
