Today, Ramp raised another $300M at a $32B valuation. In the past year our revenue has doubled to over $1B, growing 10x faster than the median public SaaS. We all know money talks — we're teaching it to think. Getting big no longer means getting slow.

Today we are announcing our $1B Series C, but money isn’t the story. The story is what we’ll do with it, and the scale of the challenge ahead. Our mission isn’t constrained by capital, supply, or demand. It’s constrained by talent. To build America’s next great power company, we

Last week I spoke to the Columbia entrepreneurship group about building and scaling startups. My path to CPO was all but linear. I made tons of mistakes, got stuck, and experienced many failures. Here are 7 principles I wish I knew when I was in college that I learned along

I don't get why anyone would prefer Zoom for a two-person call. Surely an old-fashioned voice call is better. You can pace and think about what you're talking about instead of focusing on the other person's face. This is why you have better conversations walking side by side.

I think this is the hurdle for a lot of people. If you don’t have the language to describe your idea, it might be because you’ve never had to engage this part of your mind before. Or that the references lack depth bc they’re not attuned to the world in the same way.

Overly derivative work will always be a bit boring to people who are more attuned to aesthetics because we’ve seen a version of it before.

Uploading existing images from artists or photographers and running a lazy prompt feels no different than a hack-y rip off of someone else’s work.

Using language to describe a new idea and letting Midjourney interpret that prompt based on your own preferences to create something novel is the interesting part for me.

Those matrices are inert until combined together to form something new. The training data was already in the world for people to view, remember, save, and reference for their work - like mood boards, for example.

Creatives are inherently attuned to their environments, culture, art history, and a myriad of other inputs. The creative process is the act of synthesizing those inputs into new outputs. In this way I view Gen AI an infinite series of matrices existing in a latent space.

Working this way feels even more ethical than using mood boards-which have been an integral part of the design process for as long as I can remember. Often resulting in work that feels too close to the references.

One of the deliberate challenges I place on myself when I’m working in Midjourney is to not use images in my prompts. Doing so feels like stealing other artists work directly. Training on my preferences and then using language feels more ethical. 🧵
