The film is just vague enough with its portrayal of "evil US-backed government engaging in mass slaughter" that it can of course parallel Israel, because that is what Israel is and what it's doing. It's good to make those connections but let's not give Gunn all the credit here.

Sorry everyone but I'm not really convinced that someone who seemingly thinks the "Middle Eastern conflict" started on October 7th actually put deliberate anti-Israel sentiment into his Superman movie.

Superman was a mess, but it's honestly such a mess that it circles back around to being good. Feels like picking up a random comic from the middle of a larger arc and not really knowing what's happening but going along for the adventure anyway. Not great but pretty fun 👍.
