It's pretty rare to see REAL Seasoned Staff-Plus Engineers talking about their career, where and how they try to influence, what questions they ask themselves, how they try to flight complexity, how they embrace “messy” things It's even rarer to see someone like @copyconstruct…

I've said this before but I'm saying it again: when you're looking at your job, you should have: - Good pay - Good culture - Good growth opportunities If you have 2/3, it's not too bad, but 0 or 1/3, you might want to question why you're still at that job.

I also called this wrong; fully expecting twitter to have crashed and burned a few times over after the cuts. I'm amazed twitter is still running, even if it's a shadow of its former self, overrun by bots and propped up by repeated ads for portable walrus polishing kits.

It’s surprising to me when leaders don’t think that morale is their job. IMO, the higher in the company, the more morale and making sure people understand strategy IS the job. I myself don’t always do this perfectly but I always know it’s my responsibility.

can someone smarter than me explain how gistRegex.test(url) resulted in "Maximum call stack size exceeded" on Chrome const gistRegex = /^(https?:)?(\/\/)?gist\.github\.com\/([^\/]+\/)?[0-9a-f]+/ even on long strings I can't get this to happen in manual testing

Politicians are failing us abysmally on the #ClimateCrisis. Can comedians step up and save the day? Watch the heroic Jo Brand give it a proper shot with scientist @ProfMarkMaslin 🔥 If this doesn't prompt revolution, what will? Please share far and wide! #NoNewOil #COP28

Curious what the right cadence of time off is for folks throughout the year to avoid burnout. 5 days a quarter? 2 weeks per year? Would love to know what works for others
