We need to take action on protecting communities. I will continue to advocate all levels of government to regulate these devices. Since Jan 2023, 70 injuries and 6 deaths as a result of these type of devices. @VanFireRescue @IAFF18 @CdnFireChiefs

We're seeing a growing number of fires caused by e-bikes & e-scooters in London & already more this year than we saw in the whole of 2022🔥 Always use the correct charger for your product & buy an official one from a reputable seller #ChargeSafe https://t.co/A0EHKgQSti

The dangers of rechargeable batteries present themselves when overcharged, modified or anyway altered. This battery was charged with an incompatible charger, overheated and caught fire in an SRO. Thankfully only minor damage and no injuries this time. @BC_FireSafety

A tent fire in the #DTES has spread to a building. Multiple propane tanks on site. This is not a safe environment for the residents in the area, those living in the tents and the responders. @VanFireRescue @IAFF18

Great job early this morning by @VanFireRescue. Occupants were rescued by ladder while crews entered to search for missing occupants and attack the fire. One missing occupant found and escorted to safety. Everyone made it out safe. Fire is now out.

Believe it or not, running into burning buildings is not the most dangerous part of a being a firefighter 🏚️🔥 Pleased to see the announcement this week that #firefighters now have increased presumptive cancer coverage 👍🏼 https://t.co/dEOjMd7rd9
