It's #TestTuesday today. As students head back to school and new routines develop, make fire safety part of yours. Test you smoke alarms monthly to ensure they are working properly. Review and update your home fire escape plan if needed.

It's #TestTuesday! As days get longer and people spend more time outside, it's important to remember to test smoke alarms to ensure they are working properly (this goes for smoke alarms installed in RVs and campers as well). Working smoke alarms save lives.

Only use the battery and charging cord that came with the device. Don’t overcharge batteries. Stop using a battery if you notice any changes in appearance or if it is leaking or making noise.

If you have a grease fire, do not put water on it. Turn off the heat and smother it with a lid or pan. If someone gets a burn, immediately place in cool water for 10-15 minutes.

Keep the stovetop and surrounding area free of clutter and items like potholders, towels and bags that could catch fire. Stay alert while cooking – you may not be fully alert when tired or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs or medications.
