VFRS & our Fire Prevention Division continue to honour Capt Rosenlund each year by raising money for cancer research. Bob passed in 2017 from cancer due to his work as a Firefighter protecting the community. Each year we come together to raise awareness and remember his service.
🚒🥇 Congratulations to hero fire fighter Matt Dommisse! 🥇🚒
IAFF Local 18's very own Matt Dommisse has been awarded the Vital Link Award by BCEHS for his heroic actions while off duty.

Record fires means increased calls for firefighters but also a large demand for Fire Investigations, Public Education, Fire Prevention and Mechanics. With over 100,000 vehicle responses last year it takes a group of highly trained mechanics to keep our fleet running 24/7.
Drug use material (Smokers material) remains the
#1
cause of fires in Vancouver. Locking butane torches & open flame represent a significant fire safety risk which has already caused numerous fatalities, injuries and loss since 2023. We are working to ban these dangerous devices.
