Today we honour the memories of Paramedic Chief Jo-Ann Fuller and #Paramedic Ivan Polivka. The two lost their lives in 2010 when their ambulance veered off a narrow road into Kennedy Lake on their return from the hospital in Port Alberni. #LODD #InMemoriam @APBC873

Last month, we were proud to support Cops for Cancer @tourdevalley, a 6-day cycling tour across the Fraser Valley to raise $ for research & services for kids with cancer. BCEHS had one rider in Tour de Valley this year & paramedics also provided medical support during the event.

Last week, BCEHS presented a Vital Link Award to Alvin Chang for his quick response, leadership, and effective CPR during a sudden cardiac emergency at a badminton court in #Richmond. Thanks to his actions, patient Allen Chai had a successful outcome. Congratulations Alvin!

The riders in Cops for Cancer @tourderock_ are currently cycling the length of Vancouver Island to raise money for research and support services for children with cancer. 3 BCEHS paramedics are riding in Tour de Rock this year: Sam Salmanovitch, Lisa Mitchell & Jennifer Carter.

Cops for Cancer @tourdenorth wrapped up in Prince Rupert on Friday. Riders cycled over 850 km from Prince George to Prince Rupert to raise money for children with cancer. Two BCEHS paramedics cycled in the ride this year and paramedics also served as support personnel.
