It took 30 years from the Dangerous Dogs Act for breeders to "get around it" with the American Bully. If all it takes to keep people safe from vicious dog attacks is banning a new breed every 30 years I am happy with that. Let breeders waste their time and ban their results.

The error Clarkson makes here is common. It took nearly 30 years for the American Bully to infiltrate Britain to get around the Dangerous Dogs Act. Banning another new breed in 30 years time is hardly the most onerous task, especially as it means saving lives now. 🧵

The Mirror rightly points out here that the XL Bully is "hard wired for strength and violence" and was "created to be a killing machine" pointing out that "Experts say the controversial breed is uncontrollable" Too many try to deny these truths, with the public paying the price

Fantastic debunking of nonsense arguments @RSPCA_official @DogsTrust @ScottishSPCA etc promoted when it comes to banning the highly dangerous American Bully Great to have genuine experts like Dr Ritchie looking at these areas

@RSPCA_official BSL has worked Dog on Dog attacks fell hugely - until American Bully XLs were introduced - a breed you campaign to keep legal BSL and the Dangerous Dogs act has saved thousands of dogs from being torn apart by vicious dogs bred to fight and kill.

The Pro American Bully XL campaign have: LOST in the court of public opinion LOST in their legislative battle to keep their killer dogs uncontrolled LOST in the courts which have confirmed the necessity of the upcoming ban for a breed that is responsible for 75% of deaths

Remarkable. A year ago the RSPCA believed that they were on the brink of repealing the Dangerous Dogs Act and allowing all killer breeds to run free in the UK. Today there was apparently an anti BSL protest at crufts so small even XL Bully supporters are saying they heard

How many Tibetan Terriers have had to be shot to stop their violent rampage in the whole history of the UK? How many Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Great Danes? Now how many XL Bullies have had to be shot by armed police in the last year? This is not normal.

Dog safety campaigners in the UK have built the most comprehensive database of dog attacks available. It's not perfect but it's the best there is. Pro Dangerous dog campaigners haven't even tried to collect data as they know what it will demonstrate

It's easy to forget just how uniquely dangerous the XL Bully is. In 2023 in the UK, XL's killed more Brits than ISIS. They were rightly banned, thanks to overwhelming public support, when leading dog experts exposed them as being hyper aggressive and inherently dangerous.

Steven Cull had his arm torn off by an XL Bully. It was pure luck that he didn't die. Anywhere that allows unmuzzled XL Bullies in public risks unexpected random attacks like he faced It is not worth the risk. Too many have died. Get a different dog!
