sometimes serious accounts follow this one & regular reminder I share it with three other people, the content is trash, & you should follow my real account if you know who I am. sometimes I'll rant about cell therapies at 2 am but I always delete it. okay thank you serious people.

everyone says you have to reply to important cold emails from higher ups pretty immediately but I've actually found thoroughly fact checking the bullshit you're about to send and replying within a couple of hours leads to far fewer blunders.

Fascinating:. If you have one son, your chance of another (on the next birth) is not 50% – it's higher, about 57%. If you have two sons, your chance of another is about 58%. If you have three, your chance of another is 61%. (The numbers are similar for runs of daughters)

the main reason smart people should have kids has nothing to do with eugenics but rather the reality that their kids are way more tolerable and interesting tbh.

somewhere in the last 30 years it became politically incorrect to ask kids to memorize things & my most heretical belief is that this was one of the worst things that happened to science- you should regularly be pressed to perform rote memorization and entry should be based on it.

me in personal life: "oh my god that broke on day 2 and is $18, I'm going to do the amazon return". me in my professional life: "that grant is under 500k and not worth our time".
